Social media activism will not bring change in society says actress Parvathy Menon

Though the power of social media is hard to ignore, attacking venomously at each other through social media platforms will not bring any change in society", says the award winning Mollywood actress Parvathy. You can not change the society by sitting glued to social media and making big speeches online or by trolling others, she said.

"As women, we are going through a frightening phase and the only way we can be safe is by being alert and aware. Staying immune to things happening around and sitting inside a cubicle and attacking each other through social media will lead to more hatred. Instead, educate ourselves and be aware of everything around," said the actress addressing students of St. Theresa's College at Kochi.

The young star, who won the best actress award at Kerala State Film Awards, recently appeared in a short film titled Bodhini to create awareness on online violence against women.
