'Mirzapur 2.0' may be setting television screens on fire, but off the screen it has run into rough weather with Mirzapur MP Anupriya Patel calling out the makers of the web series.

In a series of tweets, the Mirzapur MP demanded an action against the show as it portrays the city as a violent one.

According to the parliamentarian, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Mirzapur had shown development.

Translated, the MP's tweets said: "The city of Mirzapur has developed under the leadership of respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath. The city is a centre of harmony. In the web-series named Mirzapur, the city is shown to be a violent one and is being defamed. Ethnic discord is also being spread through this series."

"Being the MP of Mirzapur, I demand that the issue must be looked into and an action must be taken against the same," she added.
