The Bollywood actress and BJP MP-elect from Himachal Pradesh's Mandi claimed that a CISF security personnel smacked her at Chandigarh Airport on her way to Delhi. According to Ranaut, when she was walking to the boarding point after the security check, the CISF woman official, Kulwinder Kaur, stationed at the frisking area, allegedly argued and smacked her.

Kangana's inflammatory statement about women in Punjab during the farmers' revolt is thought to be the catalyst for the slapping.
