"Devdas" will be screened on May 20. Devdas, inspired by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s 1901 novel, featured Shah Rukh Khan as Devdas, Aishwarya as Paro and Madhuri Dixit as Chandramukhi. The Bhansali directorial was a cinematic marvel with the revelry of dance and music, and a tragic love story splashed with myriad emotions.

"We attended the festival not just as artists but as proud representatives of Indian cinema, showcasing a film that meant so much to us. The kind of reception we got for the movie was truly overwhelming, and I will cherish it all my life," Aishwarya said in a statement.

Besides Aishwarya, Bollywood actresses Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone will also walk the Cannes red carpet.

One of Deepika Padukone's fan clubs tweeted the news and it has been going viral ever since. However, there is no official word on this as yet. While Ash has been a veteran at Cannes, this is the first time that Deepika will be walking the red carpet on May 17 and 18 along with international ambassadors Julianne Moore and Susan Sarandon.

Sonam Kapoor will attend the event on May 21 and 22.

The festival runs from May 17 to 28.
