Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday continued his attacks on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during his campaign for the ongoing Assembly polls and said that her rage continues to grow.

Addressing a public gathering in Basirhat Dakshin, Amit Shah said: "Earlier, Didi (Mamata) encouraged youngsters and women in Sitalkuchi to come forward and gherao Central Armed Police Forces. You said and left on your wheelchair. But because of you, 4 people died there. On the same morning, a BJP worker also died in the constituency."

Four phases of elections are over, and both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Trinamool Congress are claiming the upper hand. The BJP continues to pitch its 'Sonar Bangla' pitch to the people of the state. "BJP can use all its might, but nothing in this world can stop me from being with my people and sharing their pain. They can restrict me from visiting my brothers and sisters in Cooch Behar for three days, but I will be there on the fourth day," Mamata Banerjee said.

Appealing to people to remain calm, Banerjee alleged that central policemen shot dead people standing in a queue to vote and demanded "Shah should resign" owing responsibility for the incident "which is dastardly, cold-blooded and unprecedented".

"After a wait for decades, the 'mahayagya' of 'ashol poribortan' has started in Bengal. This 'mahayagya' will teach a lesson to appeasers," Modi said.
