As part of its 'Neighbourhood First' policy and vaccine diplomacy, India on Friday dispatched consignments of 'Make-in India' Covid vaccine to Myanmar, Seychelles and Mauritius to fight the disease. Anish Singh reports

India reports 15,223 new Covid-19 cases, 19,965 discharges, and 151 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per Union health ministry.

West Bengal reported 409 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday (January 200 taking the toll to 5,66,482. According to the state health bulletin, 6 people died in a single day in the state taking the toll to 10,080.  

India will send two consignments of Covid vaccine, containing 20 lakh doses and 10 lakh doses to Bangladesh and Nepal, respectively on Thursday as part of its strong commitment to 'Neighbourhood First' Policy. Anish Singh reports

Sania Mirza is a renowned tennis player from India and is a Grand Slam doubles champion. She is married to former Pakistan skipper, Shoaib Malik and has a daughter, named Izhaan, born in 2018. Sania has revealed that she had contracted COVID-19, besides explaining her battle.

The COVID-19 recovery rate in West Bengal stood at 96.97 percent on Monday (January 18). It was achieved following a rise over 88 consecutive days from 87.44 on October 22 last year.

Three days after India flagged off the world's largest Covid-19 vaccination with Serum Institute of India's Covishield and Bharat Biotech's Covaxin, the latter has issued a fact sheet that seeks to clear the air surrounding the efficacy of the vaccine.

The survey also found that those with blood group 'O' may be less susceptible to the infection, while people with 'B' and 'AB' blood groups were at a higher risk.

West Bengal reported 565 new COVID-19 cases taking the toll to 5,65,272. According to the state health bulletin, 12 people died on Sunday (January 17) taking the toll to 10,053.

"Today the vaccination drive began at around 11:30 am instead of 9am due to the PM's programme, and ended at 5 pm. On the first day 62% have undergone vaccination voluntarily till 4pm, it was promising and a happy thing," Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar said.
