West Bengal reports 565 new COVID-19 cases; death toll climbs to 10,053
West Bengal reported 565 new COVID-19 cases taking the toll to 5,65,272. According to the state health bulletin, 12 people died on Sunday (January 17) taking the toll to 10,053.
621 people recovered in a single day and returned home from the hospital. The recovery rate in the state stands at 96.97 percent. The total recovery count stood at 5,48,136.
Out of the 12 deaths, 3 are from North 24 Parganas, 2 from Kolkata, and 2 from Nadia, the bulletin said.
However, the new cases include 164 from North 24 Parganas and 151 from Kolkata.
In the last 24 hours, 26,231 samples have been tested in the state and 76,47,363 overall.
According to the state health bulletin, West Bengal now has 7,083 active cases.
