Active COVID-19 cases continue to decrease in West Bengal amid recovery surge
West Bengal reported 409 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday (January 200 taking the toll to 5,66,482. According to the state health bulletin, 6 people died in a single day in the state taking the toll to 10,080.
Out of the 6 deaths in the state, 2 are from Kolkata, one each was reported from North 24 Parganas, Hooghly, Jalpaiguri and Nadia.
North 24 Parganas reported the highest of 109 new cases, followed by Kolkata at 89.
According to the state health bulletin, the total number of active cases in the state stands at 6,675.
509 people recovered in the state in a single day and returned home from the hospital. The recovery rate in the state stands at 97.08 percent.
The positivity rate is at 7.33 percent with 27,104 samples tested for COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours.
