US President Joe Biden, Barack Obama share common link; great-great grandfathers were shoemakers from Ireland

Do you know the common link between United States President Joe Biden and the former occupant of the White House, Barack Obama? The answer is their great great grandfathers, both of whom were shoemakers.

What's more both were from Ireland. Taking to Twitter, President Biden said:" Around the time my great-great-grandfather boarded a ship from Ireland to America – another shoemaker named Joseph Kearny did the same. Barack Obama's great-great-grandfather. Folks, imagine that. That's the promise of hope. Or as my mother would say: that’s the Irish of it."

Biden further noted, "And in all their dreams, I am not sure they could have ever imagined that two great-great-grandsons of shoemakers from Ireland --myself and Barack Obama -- would be sworn in President of the United States of America."
