The Enforcement Directorate has sent a notice to Bengal home secretary H K Dwivedi in connection to the money-laundering aspect of Metro Dairy’s share transfer to a private firm.

In 2017, the state government had approved the sale of its entire stake of 47 percent in Metro Dairy to Keventer, owned by the Jalan group of Kolkata, at a consideration of Rs 84.5 crore.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, “I heard that the home secretary has been asked to appear before the ED as a witness. Earlier, TMC leader Partha Chatterjee was asked to appear before the investigative agency.”
