Viral video: 'Swachchta' warrior gets tourists to clean up their trash

When Madettira Thimmaiah, former gram panchayat secretary of Kadagadalu in Kodagu found a pizza box and a bag thrown at the roadside of his hometown, he decided to swing into action.

Along with the pizza-box was a bill and a telephone number.

He called the tourists who were on their way to Mysuru and asked them to discard their waste in the proper place. He also recorded a video, which has now gone viral.

With their act now caught on tape, the tourists returned to the site to discard their waste.

Madettira was adamant that the tourists who were near Periyapatna, almost one and a half hours away, should return and clean up the place.
