After assault, burning of shop, now youth murdered in 'peaceful' HAL area; women allege police inaction
No peace in once a peaceful HAL area, Bengaluru. After an attack on a BWSSB employee, there was a murder of a youth in LB Shastrinagar in HAL. This has made residents live in fear. The women in particular say, the police failed to act on drug addicts due to which such incidents are happening.
Bengaluru: HAL locality’s peace was disturbed on Sunday (June 7) after a youth was found murdered at his rented home. The incident follows the assault of a BWSSB worker and burning of a puncture shop. Both these incidents were due to the locals questioning hoodlums and drug addicts to behave properly and not to loiter around in the area.
The women in the area say several complaints to HAL police have not yielded any results as they suspect police being hand-in-glove with criminals from Islampur, Syed Block, Reddy Palya.
Now, they have demanded installation of CCTVs and police chowki in the area to check the drug addicts and hoodlums.
