COVID-19: Karnataka reports another death after 80-year-old succumbs

The 80-year-old patient, who was admitted to GIMS hospital on April 7 after contracting coronavirus, succumbed to it last night, taking the death toll in Karnataka to six

 

With the death of 80-year-old patient from Gadag district, Karnataka's death toll due to deadly coronavirus reached six. 

The lady had recently attended a function at SM Krishna Nagar and people, who had come from Goa, are suspected to have spread the infection. 

The lady, who showed the symptoms of the virus on March 28, was admitted to the hospital after complaining of breathlessness. On Wednesday midnight, the lady suffered a cardiac arrest and died. 

The district administration had taken 44 persons from her contact list into quarantine and subjected them to COVID-19 test. As of now, test results have turned negative. 

So far, the state has recorded six deaths, 28 patients have been discharged and 181 positive cases have been reported.
