Samsung's Galaxy S25 Edge, launching May 13, is rumored to be their thinnest phone yet, featuring tandem OLED display technology.

Samsung has finally confirmed the launch date for its upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge smartphone. On May 13 at 1 PM IST, the gadget will officially launch, perhaps becoming the brand's thinnest smartphone to date. Although the design has already been unveiled in a number of international shows, the specifics of its features are still unknown. Nonetheless, a number of leaks have provided a somewhat clear picture of what to anticipate in terms of features, performance, and cost, especially for the Indian market.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Expected design

With rumors indicating a 6.4mm thin profile, the Galaxy S25 Edge is probably being positioned as one of the tiniest smartphones available. This achievement was made possible by the use of tandem OLED display technology. Apple's latest iPad Pro models use the same technology. The phone becomes lighter and slimmer without sacrificing brightness or screen quality since it does away with the requirement for a backlight. It is anticipated that the display will be a 6.6-inch OLED panel that supports a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Expected processor

The Snapdragon 8 Elite CPU from Qualcomm, which powers the regular Galaxy S25 and S25+ versions, is probably going to be at the core of the Galaxy S25 Edge. Users may anticipate excellent performance in daily tasks, multitasking, and gaming if this is the case.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Expected camera

From a camera perspective, the Edge model seems to be outperforming its competitors. A dual back camera system with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 200-megapixel main sensor is hinted to by leaks. Although a telephoto lens could be absent from this model, Samsung is intent on providing a flagship-like photography experience, as seen by this configuration that appears to largely borrow from the S25 Ultra's optics.

One potential weakness of the Edge might be its battery capacity. A 3,900mAh battery, which is less than the 4,000mAh found in the Galaxy S25 and the 4,900mAh found in the S25+, is what the leaks indicate. However, charging rates are still comparable to those of other S25 models, which are said to enable 25W fast charging. Whether Samsung would use any new battery technology, such as silicon-carbon technology, to compensate for the decreased capacity is yet unknown.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Expected price

Between the Galaxy S25+ and the S25 Ultra, the Galaxy S25 Edge could be the compromise. Although it doesn't cost as much as the Ultra, it could provide a more upscale experience than the regular and Plus models. The Edge is anticipated to be priced between Rs 1,05,000 and Rs 1,15,000, although the company has not confirmed this. This is because the Galaxy S25 starts at Rs 80,999, the Plus at Rs 99,999, and the Ultra at Rs 1,29,999.
