The tweet, dated June 23, 2016, which is exactly a year back, has Kohli saying how he looked forward to working with Kumble and that great things was in store for Indian cricket.

Kumble was chosen by the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) comprising of Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman. The CAC was formed by the BCCI last year.

Anil Kumble resigned on June 20, 2017, following a spat with Virat Kohli. He hadn’t spoken to the Indian skipper from December. Indian players and Kohli himself said that they did not like his ‘overbearing’ nature.

Anil Kumble in his resignation stated how he always respected the role boundaries between the captain and the coach. In a meeting held after the Champions Trophy final in London, Kumble said that he has no issues with Kohli. However, he did realize that the damage to the coach and captain relationship between him and Kohli was beyond repair.

The deletion of this tweet by Kohli solidifies his animosity against Kumble.
