Now the British are coming to save Bellandur Lake

 


Plans are now once again in the offing to revive the Bellandur lake. According to reports, the Karnataka State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (KSIIDC) has proposed to adopt the highly polluted Bellandur Lake. 

 

KSIIDC chairman CM Dhananjaya at a press conference on Wednesday said that his department has a full-fledged plan to restore the lake. "Money is not an issue as the UK government has, in principle, agreed to finance the project," said Dhananjaya.

Now the British are coming to save Bellandur Lake


The KSIIDC officials are now waiting for the approval from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.


The fire in the highly polluted water last month left even fire department stumped as even they could not even spot the exact the source of fire. It took them hours to bring the fire under control.


Despite several complaints to BDA, BBMP and other authorities concerned, till now no action has been initiated for the welfare of the city lake.

Now the British are coming to save Bellandur Lake


Last month, the Karnataka Lokayukta P Vishwanath Shetty registered a suo motu complaint on the neglected condition of Bellandur lake. This was the first suo motu complaint filed by the Lokayukta after he took charge on January 28.


The National Green Tribunal (NGT) also has taken a suo motu case on the Bellandur lake pollution and has asked the BDA, the BWSSB, the 
Lake Development Authority and the pollution control board to come up with a plan of action.
