Currency Ban: Blood bank refuses ₹1000 note, accident victim dies in hospital

33-year-old Raju met with an accident in Nelamangala. He was rushed to the Victoria Hospital. The doctors asked the family members to arrange for blood immediately. Teh family went to teh blood bank in the hospital. But as Raju’s family members had ₹1000 currency note the blood bank refused to give them any blood and asked them to get proper change.

 

One of his relatives rushed to the blood bank at MS Ramaiah Hospital. But he was not given any blood as he did not have the change.

 

As Raju did not get the blood on time, he succumbed to injuries, said sources.

 

In many places, common people are suffering due to non-availability of change. At some places in Bengaluru the ATMs have closed their shutters and even banks are going out of cash by afternoon.
