Bengaluru: A 15-year-old teen, Jabbi Khan, was brutally beaten up by a group of youth for allegedly appearing in a selfie frame on Saturday as he went to Akkayamma Betta near Kempegowda International Airport for a picnic along with his brother.  According to police reports, Jabbi Khan and his younger brother went to Akkayamma Betta near Kempegowda International Airport for a picnic on December 1.

"Two people, accompanied by four others were trying to click a selfie on the hill when Jabbi Khan accidentally appeared in the frame. When they saw Jabbi appear in the frame, they told him to step away. Since they were on top of the hill, Jabbi was trying to move away slowly. However, the two people clicking the selfie began verbally abusing him,” the Chikkajala police said.

When the other four saw the two abusing Jabbi, they too, allegedly began to abuse Jabbi. "Jabbi lost a tooth and his face has suffered bruises. The group also took away Jabbi’s mobile phone," the police said.

Jabbi's younger brother immediately called his father, Mubarak, who rushed to the scene and took Jabbi to a hospital in Thanisandra where the victim is currently undergoing medical treatment

A case of assault and criminal intimidation against the six unidentified people has been registered in Chikkajala police station, and the police said they have managed to track the assaulters.  “There were five boys and one girl. They are minors, and we have summoned them along with their parents for an enquiry. We questioned the suspects, but since they are minors, we may warn them, record their statements and arrive at a compromise with Jabbi's father,” the police added.
