[VIDEO] Bellandur lake catches fire once again, toxic fume chokes city
- Toxic Bellandur lake once again caught fire on Thursday.
- It took fire personnel several hours to bring it under control.
- In 2015 also the lake had caught fire.
The fire in the highly polluted water left even fire department stumped as even they could not even spot the exact the source of fire.
Â
After several hours of hard work, the fire personnel were able to put out the fire only by 10 pm.
The fire personnel believe that the lakebed caught fire due the chemicals inside the lake or somebody may have tried to burn some waste near the area.
According to the local residents, people often burn waste around the lake area despite their protests and complaints to the higher authorities.
This is not the first time that Bellandur lake has caught fire. In 2015, the reports of Bellandur lakes catching fire had made headlines world over. The entire city then had risen up against the lackadaisical attitude of the authorities.
Â
Despite that not much has changed.
