Bengaluru: A Tamil Nadu based bus ran over a rider at Mysuru Road flyover in Bengaluru, killing the rider on the spot. The accident occurred in the wee hours of Wednesday (April 10).

The bus ran over the rider, crushing his head, resulting in his spot death.

According to reports, the two-wheeler rider was taking two more people on his bike. The bus hit the bike from behind, resulting in the fall of all three. But it ran over Samshi, who is said to have died on the spot.

The other two have suffered minor injuries and are being treated in Victoria Hospital.

The Mysuru Road flyover is also known as Sirsi flyover and is Bengaluru's first flyover built in 1998. But there have been complaints regarding maintenance of the road. It is said that the road is poorly managed and movement of heavy vehicles has caused damage to the road, making it accident-prone.

The BBMP was planning to close the road for a month and repair the same. But as the Palike has to take permission for three jurisdiction as it falls under VV Puram, KR Market and Chickpet. The plan did not succeed and the road is still awaiting repairs.
