Dubai: Prior to this week's Eid holidays, prices to India from the UAE have unexpectedly decreased as a result of new flights by Air India Express and GoAir. Prior to June 20 when they increase to Dh1,235-Dh2,612 during the busiest summer travel period, economy class fares ranged from Dh735-Dh1,405 depending on the sector.

For travel between April 19 and 24, a round-trip economy ticket to Mumbai is available for as little as Dh931, down from the average price of Dh1,100 during February and March. For the same dates of travel, tickets to New Delhi are also on sale for Dh1,058 as opposed to the Dh1,350 listed in March.

Even prices in the extremely congested South India sector, which are typically higher than the rest of the country due to demand for VFR (visit friends and relatives), are lower if you fly between April 18 and 24, falling to Dh1,310 (Dubai to Kochi), compared to Dh2,085 a month earlier. Similarly, according to information from travel aggregator SkyScanner, fares between Dubai and Bengaluru have decreased to Dh1,101 from Dh1,430 previously.

Multiple Air India Express flights were started from the UAE to Indian non-metropolitan cities. The airline began operating on the Indore-Sharjah route for the first time on March 31.

Similar to this, low-cost airline Go Air has begun offering direct flights from Dubai to Kannur in Kerala for as low as Dh335.

Tickets to Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kochi, and Chennai from Sharjah are quite reasonably priced, ranging from Dh931 to Dh1,640.

More flights by Go Air and Air India Express have been added to secondary cities, which has led to a decrease in prices in the Kerala sector as well. The cost of travel on April 19–20 may be slightly higher than the cost of travel on April 18 or later on April 20. Up to June 20th, the rates are lower.
