One of the most anticipated and treasured Hindu holidays for married ladies in India is Karwa Chauth. Millions of married women around the nation follow a Karwa Chauth fast in order to wish their individual partners happiness, prosperity, and health. This year, the auspicious festival of Karwa Chauth 2022 will be observed on October 13. On this day, from sunrise until moonrise, women practise a "Nirjala" (without water) fast in support of their life partners' success, happiness, and wellbeing.

Consume sargi given by mother-in-law: Women begin the Karwa Chauth fast by consuming the meal that their mother-in-law sent them. Sargi is only served to women by their mother-in-law. On Karwa Chauth, ladies are not allowed to eat anything else after eating the foods from Sargi until their husbands break their fast.

Apply mehendi and solah shringar: Mehndi is applied to the hands of all ladies who are following the fast. Because it takes some time for the colour to deepen on your hands, the mehndi should be done at least a day before Karva Chauth. Apply henna two days in advance and think positively all day long. One of the most crucial things for ladies to perform is solah shringar, which includes sindoor, bindi, mangal sutra, bangles, mehandi, etc. In every Hindu home, married ladies perform this on significant occasions.

What to eat and what nort?: Before breaking the fast, hydrate your body with water. After the fast, consume a bowl of plain curd to let your body and digestive system chill down. To prevent acidity, refrain from binge eating after the fast. Women should only consume satvik foods to break their fast. On this auspicious day of Karwa Chauth, they should refrain from eating anything that isn't vegetarian. Avoid breaking the fast with fried food as it may lead to an upset stomach, loose motions, gastric irritability or bloating.

Avoid black & white: Wearing black or white clothing on Karwa Chauth is not seen as a positive thing since these colours are not considered auspicious during any puja in Hindu tradition.

Pray and seek blessings: Married women should participate in the Karwa Chauth puja and listen to the Katha in the evening before breaking the fast. Without following this ritual, the nirjala vrat is considered incomplete. Baya is a unique gift for Karwa Chauth that daughters-in-law give to their in-laws. It includes, among other things, clothing, jewellery, food, and utensils. Don't forget to ask your mother-in-blessings law's while presenting the baya.
