When Maharaja of Mysuru turned teacher for a day

The students of a government school in Kumbara Koppal in the city had a special teacher on Wednesday. It was none other than Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, the titular head of Mysore royal family. Yaduveer was interacting with students as part of "Learn From Mysuru Maharaja' programme initiated by the Kalisu Foundation.

From environment to waste segregation to good manners to heritage conservation, Yaduveer spoke to the students with the help of sliders. He asked the students not to throw waste in the school premises but use dustbins to keep their surroundings clean. He also urged them to help their parents in segregating the waste in their homes. He also touched upon topics like heritage conservation and water conservation. He also urged them to plant more trees. The students were also taught on mathematics too, reports Suvarna News.

While Yaduveer was busy explaining various subjects, some of the students were happy chatting among themselves. However, it was the interaction with the 'Maharaja' himself that thrilled the students. To a girl's question, what the achievement meant for him, Yaduveer admitted that it was a tough question to answer. While he said that there are many things that he wants to achieve, it was still a difficult to answer, much to amusement of the girl. However, the students seemed to thoroughly enjoying the class from Yaduveer.

The foundation is striving to conserve the dying government schools in the city and 'Learn From Maharaja' was part of the initiative.
