SIT gets report from Scotland Yard about bullets that killed Kalburgi Pasare Dabholkar

The SIT and CID officials think the killing of all 4 thinkers in Karnataka and Maharashtra are done by the same gang and they have written to CBI requesting for the Scotland Yard ballistic report, reported Kannada Prabha.

CBI had taken up the investigation of Narendra Dabholkar’s killing that happened on August 20, 2013. It had sent the bullets to Scotland Yard police in Briton to test if there were similarities between the killing of Govind Pansare, Dabholkar and Prof M M  Kalbugi. The FSL experts tested the 3 bullets and concluded that all 3 killings followed the same modus operandi.  It was conveyed to CBI orally. Hence CID has requested CBI to share the information from the Scotland Yard expert report.

The Gujarat forensic institute, Mumbai and Karnataka FSL experts have opined that the pistol used in Pansare and Prof M M Kalburgi 7.65 mm are one and the same.  The bullets fired from another pistol had killed Pansare wife Uma and Dabholkar. The FSL report of all the 3 cases were sent to Scotland Yard.

The FSL experts have orally confirmed that the pistol used for killing Dr M M Kalburgi and Gauri Lankesh are same.  Intellectual dissent could be the motive for killing and a single team may have worked, suspect officials.

The ballistic signature determines of the bullets are hit from the same pistol. The FSL experts have confirmed to the SIT officials that the same pistol is used for killing Prof Kalburgi and Gauri Lankesh.  The CID officials showed a  demonstration regarding the progress in Prof M M Kalburgi’s killing investigation to SIT officials at DGP’s office on Tuesday.
