Biggest man-hunt in the history of CID Minister Parameshwar reveals minutes before resigning
The main suspect in the killing of rationalist scholar Dr M M Kalburgi is hiding overseas, CID investigations are underway and this is the biggest man-hunt in the history of CID said Dr G Parameshwar, minutes before resigning as the Home Minister.

He was speaking to newspersons, at Vikasa Soudha, minutes before resigning as the Home Minister, following a direction from the High Command, in the wake of being appointed as the President, KPCC, for the second term, on Friday. He denied that the department had failed to crack Dr Kalburgi killing case and revealed that the investigations are in progress and that it has been found that the main suspect is based in a foreign country. He declined to further reveal details, saying they cannot be made public at this stage.
Scotland Yard police have confirmed that the bullets used in the killings of rationalists Dhabholkar and Pansare of Maharashtra and that of Dr M M Kalburgi are similar. Prima facie, the incidents look linked. This is a sensitive case and our State police will definitely break it, he said. However, this being a complicated case, fixing a time of resolution is impossible, he said.
He listed out his accomplishments during his tenure of one and half year as the Home Minister stating that, he initiated the appointment of 23,000 police personnel. In the coming years four to five thousand appointments will be carried out in phased manner. In the same period 12,000 police personnel were promoted. Constables were sanctioned allowance of Rs 2000. Pay revision for police personnel, along with the pay revision of State Government employees, as detailed in the Aurdakar Report, prepared by the Home Ministry, has already been submitted to the government for implementation, he said.
Under the police housing scheme, 11,000 houses are under construction. 5000 houses are already handed over to police personnel, tenders will be called shortly for the construction of 4000 more houses. Remaining houses will also be constructed at a quick pace. Top priority has been placed for the welfare of police personnel during his tenure, said Dr G Parameshwar.
Response to complaints within 15 second
State of the art technology at the Home Department will enable quick solving of crimes. Like in the West, a system has been placed for the Control Room to provide quick response within 15 seconds to calls made to 100 and the police to reach the crime spot within 15 minutes. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be inaugurating this facility shortly, explained Dr G Parameshwar. KSRP personnel are provided with 1000 additional vehicles. Additional Hoysala patrolling vehicles have been procured. Highway patrolling has been initiated to control crime on highways. Every single case of murder for political reasons has been busted by the State police. From 2009, when BJP was in power at State, to till current times, majority of political murders cases have been cracked. However, Dr Kalburgi’s murder case is yet to be resolved, he said.
