A Bengaluru man has used AI to create “GTA Bangalore”, reimagining the city with Silk Board traffic, Koramangala rain, dosa stops and MG Road nightlife. The video has sparked reactions online, with users joking about the city's roads and traffic.
What would Bengaluru look like if its traffic jams, sudden rain, dosa breakfasts, nightlife and everyday chaos were turned into a Grand Theft Auto mission? A Bengaluru creator has offered a playful answer through an AI-generated video that reimagines the city in the visual style of the popular video game franchise. From HSR Layout and Silk Board to Koramangala, Church Street and MG Road, the parody brings together several recognisable Bengaluru experiences in a GTA-style adventure that has caught the attention of social media users.
From HSR Layout To Silk Board Traffic
Titled “GTA Bangalore: Sudeep on Mission”, the video follows an IT employee through what appears to be a typical day in Bengaluru, recreated in a GTA-inspired style.
The clip begins with the protagonist leaving his home in HSR Layout. A security guard is seen saluting him before he gets into a white cab and begins his journey.
The character soon encounters one of Bengaluru's most familiar challenges, traffic around Silk Board Junction. The scene features BMTC buses, cars and auto-rickshaws, capturing the city's often frustrating commute.
The journey then continues towards Koramangala, where the protagonist encounters a sudden spell of rain.
Dosa, Idli And A ‘Mission Passed’ Moment
The GTA-style Bengaluru adventure continues through some of the city's popular spots.
The character is shown travelling through Church Street, where a “Mission Passed” message appears on screen, adding to the video game's parody format.
The protagonist also stops for a typical South Indian breakfast featuring dosa, idli and vada.
The creator, Suryansh, explained the idea behind the video in the comments, writing: “Asked myself what GTA would look like if Rockstar grew up in Koramangala. so I made it.”
Bengaluru Nightlife Gets The GTA Treatment
As evening arrives, the video shifts towards Bengaluru's nightlife.
The cab is shown passing Vidhana Soudha against a sunset backdrop before the protagonist reaches MG Road. He then enters a neon-lit club and dances with the crowd, recreating the city's well-known nightlife scene in a GTA-inspired setting.
The video combines familiar Bengaluru locations and experiences with elements associated with the popular video game, turning an ordinary day in the city into a fictional mission.
Bengaluru-Style ‘WASTED’ Ending
The parody ends with a distinctly GTA-style twist.
While walking along a wet road at night and looking at his phone, the protagonist is suddenly hit by a speeding auto-rickshaw and sent flying.
The screen then cuts to the familiar “WASTED” ending, giving the Bengaluru-themed video a humorous finish.
How Did Social Media React?
The AI-generated Bengaluru parody prompted a range of reactions from social media users. While some praised the creativity, others jokingly pointed out that certain parts of the video did not quite match the reality of navigating Bengaluru.
One user commented: "how are the roads walkable."
Another wrote: "Amazing creativity! ."
A third user commented: "Koramangala without potholes seems sus."
A fourth user said: "This is not at all possible the roads are never free and you can’t park and walk into a pub no where."
The reactions show how the video has combined Bengaluru's familiar landmarks, traffic, weather, food and nightlife with the exaggerated world of Grand Theft Auto, creating a playful AI-powered take on everyday life in the city.
