Bail plea of Mohammed Nalapad rejected again, to continue in jail

The bail plea of MLA NA Haris's son Mohammed Nalapad has been rejected by the 63rd Sessions Court and he will have to continue his stay in the Central jail in Bengaluru.

Accused in the severe assault on Vidvath, Nalapad has completed 100 days in jail. The special prosecutor arguing for Vidvath had said that Nalapad might influence the witnesses as he is the son of a sitting MLA and that there were some investigations still pending. Thus even after filing the charge sheet Nalapad will continue to stay in jail, amidst rumours that he is being provided VIP treatment inside the prison.

Nalapad is in the jail as he was accused of severely assaulting Vidvath, at Farzi Cafe in Bengaluru. A case of attempt to murder was also booked on Nalapad. The incident had occurred on February 17. He was missing for two days and surrendered before the police on February 19.

After a hearing, Nalapad was sent to Central jail along with six of his associates on February 21. Repeated pleas for bail have been rejected, mainly because he wields influence and that he might destroy the evidence and influence the witnesses.
