Shortly before her death, she mysteriously sent her mobile phone password to her sister, prompting a police investigation under the Dowry Prohibition Act.

A 26-year-old Bengaluru woman allegedly died by suicide after sharing her mobile phone password with her younger sister shortly before her death, with her family accusing her husband and in-laws of mental and physical harassment. This comes as the Twisha Sharma case, which involves a retired judge's family, is still being investigated. Five months after she wed Samarth Singh, a lawyer and the son of retired judge Giribala Singh, Sharma, a resident of Noida, was discovered dead at her in-laws' home in Bhopal on May 12.

According to the complaint, Lakshmi Priya married Rajesh Aradhya on May 11, 2023, in Mysuru. Rajesh Aradhya is a police constable posted at HAL Police Station in Bengaluru's Marathahalli. The complaint alleged that Rajesh Aradhya, together with his mother Bhagyamma and father Palaksharadhya, harassed Lakshmi Priya physically and psychologically following the marriage.

According to the police, Lakshmi Priya subsequently became pregnant and gave birth to a daughter. She allegedly spent over six months at her parents' house after giving birth.

Shared Phone Password With Sister

Lakshmi Priya reportedly texted her younger sister Jayashree her mobile phone password over WhatsApp on May 22 at about 2:31 pm. She did not answer the calls when the family attempted to reach her right away. They were later told that Lakshmi Priya had passed away by Rajesh Aradhya.

Police have filed a case against the husband and in-laws under the applicable sections of the Dowry Prohibition Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on the complaint. Additional research is being done.
