The police set fire to 26 kg of ganja and 10 grams of MDMA at around 4:30 PM today. These drugs were seized as evidence in various cases, some during the special 'Operation Toofan' drive and some even before that.

The entire process took place at the District Headquarters Camp grounds, right under the supervision of District Police Chief R. Anand IPS.
A special District Drug Disposal Committee, which is headed by the District Police Chief, held a meeting and took the final call to destroy the narcotics. The District Police Chief said that this action is part of their 'Zero Drug Campaign' under 'Operation Toofan'.
SP R. Anand IPS also made it clear that the police will step up their anti-drug operations in the district in the coming days.
