Karnataka politics: After Vishwanath, old-time loyalists meet Siddaramaiah in hospital

After breaking away from Congress and not heeding to former CM Siddaramaiah's request and warning, disqualified and re-elected MLAs Byrathi Basavaraj, ST Somashekhar and former MLA Munirathna Naidu met Siddaramaiah at the hospital and wished him a speedy recovery.

Bengaluru: First time after resigning from the Congress and crossing over to the BJP, the most trusted lawmakers from Bengaluru Byrathi Basavaraj, ST Somashekhar and former MLA Munirathna Naidu met former Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and wished him a speedy recovery.                    

The leaders' presence there was termed as a courtesy visit and "nothing political". Earlier in the day, arch rival in politics H Vishwanath had met Siddaramaiah.

H Vishwanath had quit the Congress, joined JD(S) and then moved to the BJP. Vishwanath along with former minister HM Revanna, former pro tem Speaker KB Koliwad met Siddaramaiah and enquired about his health and wished him a speedy recovery.

It is said that both the leaders exchanged pleasantries. Vishwanath who openly criticised Siddaramaiah in the past and also during the Assembly by-election spoke to Siddaramaiah and both leaders were happy to see each other.

Siddaramaiah has been hospitalised and is being treated for heart ailment. He underwent angioplasty at a private hospital two days ago. The doctors have shifted him to a ward and he has been advised rest for a few days.
