For example, if an employee's basic pay under the 6th Pay Commission was ₹25,000, it will increase to about ₹64,250 with the 2.57 fitment factor. This means someone with a ₹60,000 basic could see it jump to nearly ₹1,50,000.

However, the Pay Commission's calculation is not as simple as just multiplying by 2.57. So, everyone must wait for the official government notification to get the final details.

From what we know so far, this new pay structure might have a total of 18 levels. Employees in levels 1 to 5 (Group-D and general staff) will get a basic pay from ₹18,000 to ₹92,300. For employees in levels 6 to 9, the basic pay could start from ₹35,400 and go up to ₹1,67,800.
