ICC World T20 2021: Avesh Khan, Venkatesh Iyer to be net bowlers for Team India
The ICC World T20 starts Sunday in UAE and Oman. In the meantime, India would be desperate to win the tournament and to prepare in the best way; it would have Avesh Khan and Venkatesh Iyer at its net bowlers.
India is preparing for the 2021 ICC World T20, set to be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman from Sunday. India would be taking part in its seventh edition of the tournament, besides aiming to lay its hands on the eminent title for the second time.
Meanwhile, the team is ensuring that it prepares in the best possible way against the best bowlers. On the same note, it has added a couple of young and promising net bowlers based on their sensational performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.
As per an ESPNCricinfo report, pacers Avesh Khan and Venkatesh Iyer will be staying back in UAE after IPL 2021 to prepare the Indian batters for WT20 in the nets. While Avesh has been a sensation for Delhi Capitals (DC) with his fierce and effective pace bowling, Iyer has nailed it mostly with his bat for former champion Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Avesh has claimed 23 wickets in 15 matches this season at an economy of 7.50 and has the best figure of 3/13. Overall, he has claimed 28 from 24 in IPL at 8.35, while he would look to continue with the same streak in Playoffs.

Avesh and Iyer have joined pacer Umran Malik as net bowlers. The latter had been impressive for SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) this season, consistently delivering at a pace of 150 km/h.
