T20 World Cup 2021, India vs Pakistan: What is wrong with Virat Kohli's batting? Rashid Latif analyses
India and Pakistan will light up the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 stage on Sunday. While India is the favourite here, Rashid Latif speaks about Pakistan's chances and Virat Kohli's batting.
Sunday is an important day for the cricketing fans of India and Pakistan, as the two sides clash in Group 2's Super 12 meeting of the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup at the Dubai International Stadium. Pakistan has met India on the previous five instances in the tournament, having failed to win it every single time.
As far as this clash is concerned, India is the favourite again. However, judging by their battle in the ICC T20I Rankings, with India and Pakistan ranked second and third, respectively, things could get intense this term. Also, Pakistan has a formidable squad to tame India and is its best chance to date.
In the meantime, former Pakistani legend Rashid Latif has backed Pakistan to capitalise on India's mistakes to stand a chance to win this encounter. Speaking to Khaleej Times, he said he believes in making the opponents make mistakes, which is tactical, besides putting its techniques and skills to the maximum effect.
Latif also feels that Indian skipper Virat Kohli might make some selection mistakes, which could aid Pakistan. He would be watchful of the batting combination, along with the spin combination, which could play a significant role in the XI and the entire game. Nevertheless, he backed his side to give its best this time.
Speaking on Kohli's form, Latif feels that there is nothing wrong with his overall form, but it is in the shortest format that he has been experimenting with his batting positions, leading to his downfall. He reckoned that Kohli's tendency to take time in the middle overs in Twenty20s does not work, while he also needs to improve his strike rate against the spinners.
