Right now, electric scooters make up more than 9% of India's two-wheeler market. People are quickly switching to EVs because of high petrol prices and growing environmental awareness. In this competitive space, Ather Energy is holding its own in the top three, right alongside big players like TVS and Bajaj. Their recently launched family scooter, the 'Rizta', has been a huge hit in cities.

New EL Platform: The secret to a lower price

So far, Ather has only sold premium scooters like its '450' series and the 'Rizta'. But the company realised it needs an affordable model to attract more customers, which is why they created the EL platform. Ather's current scooters start from around ₹1.15 lakh (ex-showroom). This new scooter is expected to cost around ₹1 lakh, making it Ather's most affordable model yet. It will give a range of about 100 km on a single charge, which is perfect for daily commutes.

Don't think a lower price means fewer features. Ather promises not to compromise on its well-known technology. It will come with AtherStack Pro for regular software updates and connected features. Just like the 'Rizta', this scooter will be designed for daily use with plenty of space and a comfortable seat. Plus, Ather is also rapidly setting up more Ather Grid charging stations and service centres all over the country.
