‘Kutti Thala is here’: Suresh Raina and Priyanka blessed with second child

Bengaluru: Indian batsman Suresh Raina and his wife Priyanka were on Monday (March 23) blessed with a baby boy, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise announced on Twitter.

CSK, on its official Twitter handle, wrote, “Kutti Thala is here! Lots of #Yellove and #WhistlePodu to @_PriyankaCRaina  and @ImRaina  for the newest addition to the #superfamily (sic).”

The left-handed batsman and Priyanka are already parents to a girl, Gracia. They often post pictures and videos of her daughter. Gracia was born in 2016.

Confirming the news, Raina posted a picture and wrote on Twitter, "The beginning of all things – wonder, hope, possibilities and a better world! We are proud to welcome our son & Gracia’s little brother - Rio Raina. May he flows beyond boundaries, bringing peace, renewal & prosperity to everyone’s life."

Indian off-spinner and Raina’s CSK teammate Harbhajan Singh congratulated the pair on Twitter. “Congratulations @ImRaina  and Priyanka for the baby (sic).”

Raina, who plays for CSK, recently attended the IPL franchise’ training camp in Chennai. With IPL 2020 deferred till April 15, CSK cancelled their camp and the cricketers went home.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has sent India into a lockdown and Raina recently tweeted a video of his training at home.

Yesterday (March 22), during the “Janta Curfew”, Raina had tweeted to thank all those who are helping in the fight against coronavirus.

“So proud to see the whole nation following the advisories & observing the #JantaCurfew! Thank you all the doctors, nurses, caregivers, armed forces, support staff, airport staff & everyone else out there working relentlessly for us in these difficult times. #IndiaFightsCorona (sic),” he had tweeted.

On March 16, he had tweeted a picture of himself wearing a mask. He wrote, “It’s very important that we understand the need of social isolation to break the chain, don’t spread information from unreliable sources, don’t ignore the health advisories & for sure follow the hygiene measures.#coronavirus (sic).”
