Mumbai: In these difficult times over coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, India batsman Rohit Sharma has delivered an important message to the world.

The novel coronavirus has made life difficult across the world. In India, more than 400 cases have been reported so far. Seven have lost their lives.

The country is under a lockdown to prevent the spread of the virus. Yesterday (March 22), Indians observed “Janta Curfew”, supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal.

Today (March 23), PM Modi urged all Indians to take the lockdown seriously. “Many people are still not taking the lockdown seriously. Please save yourself, save your family, follow the instructions seriously. I request the state governments to ensure implementation of rules and laws,” Modi tweeted in Hindi on Monday morning.

Amidst the fears over coronavirus, India’s limited-overs vice-captain Rohit has taken to the micro-blogging website to tell everyone that Mother Earth has found a way to heal.

Here is what Rohit wrote on his Twitter account.

“Through these extremely difficult and dangerous times, Mother Earth has found a way to heal. Our planet has shown us what a difference a lifestyle change can make even in a short amount of time. We always wondered if it was too late to combat climate change but Mother Earth has shown us that we can reverse it and help her heal if we all do it together.

“Through these testing times India has seen a major drop in its air and noise pollution levels, Venice has dolphins playing in their harbours, boars running around their streets, Rome has swans in their fountains and the pollution levels have dropped all over the world! This is the world we need to protect.”
