Here is how Bengaluru Police ensured safe, peaceful New Year in city
Women police officers were stationed at various locations and the DCP (Central) Devaraja was on watch tower throughout to ensure no untoward incident took place
Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Police deployed additional forces, installed CCTV cameras, restricted vehicle movement, seized alcohol bottles from those thronging in and around the central business district (CBD), where the city welcomed the New Year. The police ensured a safe and peaceful New Year for the revellers. The women police officers were stationed at MG Road and also, the deputy commissioner of police (DCP) D Devaraja was on a watch tower throughout to ensure no untoward incident happened. Here is how Bengalureans celebrated the New Year on MG Road.
On the occasion, Police Commissioner T Suneel Kumar did two rounds of policing and DCP Devaraja was on watch tower throughout the celebrations. Women police officers stationed at important locations and men, women were frisked, alcohol bottles seized to avert any untoward incident. Every area was barricaded, the police kept a check on people thronging MG Road.
