At least 60 pupils at a boarding school in Bengaluru, Karnataka, tested positive for Covid-19, prompting school administrators to close it. According to various media reports, one pupil has a high temperature and is being treated at Lady Curzon and Bowring Hospital. At the same time, another is being quarantined at home. The majority of the affected pupils at Sri Chaitanya Girls' Residential School are asymptomatic and are confined at a school-run isolation facility.

According to Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner J Manjunath, 14 of the afflicted pupils are from Tamil Nadu, while the rest are from Karnataka's various districts. A retest would be performed on the seventh day, followed by another on October 20. According to the reports, the boarding school started physical lessons for senior students on September 5 with 57 completely vaccinated staff members, including 22 professors and 480 pupils. On September 26, one student began experiencing symptoms such as fever, vomiting, and diarrhoea, and she was discovered to be afflicted with the coronavirus illness. The next day, all of the other pupils were tested for the virus.
