Mithun Chakraborty had joined the TMC after it came to power in West Bengal in the 2011 Assembly elections. The actor was nominated as Rajya Sabha member in 2014 but he resigned from the membership of Rajya Sabha within two years citing health issues.
However, it is expected that this time Mithun Chakraborty will share the stage with PM Modi in his rally at the Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata.
