Former Rajya Sabha MP and Trinamool Congress leader Dinesh Trivedi joined the BJP on Saturday (March 6). 

Dinesh Trivedi joined the BJP in presence of the party’s national president JP Nadda in New Delhi and Union Minister Piyush Goyal.

Dinesh Trivedi resigned as Trinamool Congress MP in Rajya Sabha on February 12. After resignation, he said that he was not allowed to work in the party and there was violence prevailing in Bengal.

Dinesh Trivedi’s joining into the BJP ahead of the assembly polls will give a major boost for the party which is hoping to come to power in Bengal this time. 

The elections for the 294 Assembly seats in West Bengal will begin on March 27.
