Domestic flights resume from Bengaluru, while flights to certain destinations stand cancelled

Domestic flight services resumed in the nation, after an unprecedented suspension of 62 days, early on Monday morning
 

Bengaluru: Domestic flights across India resumed operations after 2 months and IndiGo carriers were the first to take flight. Passengers from across the state started arriving at respective airports early in the morning. Passengers were screened before being allowed into the airport and 10 BMTC buses and ambulances were on standby. 

However, as many as 32 flights flying out of Bengaluru have been cancelled due to restrictions imposed by the Karnataka government. As per reports, flights from Chennai, Mangaluru, Visakhapatnam, Kolkata, Goa, Indore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Vijayawada, Jaipur amongst other cities got cancelled on Monday morning. Airport sources have claimed that few state governments have given permission to leave from their respective cities and banned arrival.

Meanwhile, a five-year-old named Vivaan Sharma, travelled alone from Delhi to Bengaluru under a special category. His mother Manjeesh Sharma was at the Bengaluru airport to pick him up on his arrival. Vivaan was with his grandparents in Delhi for the past 2 months and was stuck since the lockdown was imposed. Today he travelled back to Bengaluru as soon as domestic flights resumed.
