Bracing for monsoon hit: Authorities clear drains in flood-prone areas, remove 400 uprooted trees in Bengaluru

An emergency meeting of top officials of the BBMP, BESCOM, BWSSB, Disaster Management Authority among others took place to brief minister R Ashoka about their preparedness to deal with the monsoon mayhem. The team has identified over 200 flood prone areas and cleared 468 uprooted trees and branches in the last five days.

The BBMP that is faced with the herculean task of containing COVID-19, met yesterday along with other authorities to prepare for monsoon-related emergencies.

 

As flooding and trees uprooting is usual during the monsoon, the team in advance identified 200 flood prone locations. To clear dead and uprooted trees and branches, the BBMP roped in 500 Civil Defence personnel, who have cleared 468 trees and branches and transported them to Palace Grounds in the last five days.
