Woman goes to watch 'Padmaavat' in theatre, gets raped instead

A 19-year-old girl was allegedly raped in a near empty theater in Secunderabad where she had gone to watch 'Padmaavat' with her 'Facebook friend'.

The Market police on Thursday arrested K Bikshapathi, 23, hailing from Jangaon district.
The attacker and the victim had become friends on Facebook and on January 29, he took her to watch Padmaavat.

Police said the accused took advantage of the fact that there were only a few people in the theatre and nobody was near them and raped her.

The girl reportedly received severe injuries on her private parts and is undergoing treatment.

The accused was arrested on January 31 and sent to judicial custody the following day.
