Telangana Youth Congress demanded for the ban of Sunburn Event to be held at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad on Friday. The youth demanded the ban on the reasons of drug issue prevalent in the city. They surrounded the Excise Office in Hyderabad.

Speaking to the media, State Youth Congress President Anil Yadav said that the city has already earned the name of ‘Drug City’ and requested the government not to bring in parties and in the process tarnishing the name of the city. He alleged the involvement of IT Minister K Taraka Ramarao and his brother-in-law in the event and demanded as to how could the government give permission for such an event.

He said the drugs mafia has the city in its grip and Excise department failed to investigate it thoroughly. They said it was an insult to the sports people by organising such an event in the stadium.

He alleged that tickets were sold at the rate of Rs 2,000 to Rs 3 lakh and questioned about the expensive tickets and chances of drug peddling here.
