Telangana: Police lathicharge devotees after stone-pelting incident during Ram Navami

According to reports, when the procession reached Masjid Gulzar located at Vegetable Market, it was alleged that stones were pelted on the Masjid by miscreants as a result of which the window panes of Masjid got damaged. Following this, two groups gathered around 9 PM and started pelting stones, leading to tension.
Adilabad SP and Nizamabad police commissioner Karthikeya were asked by top brass of the Telangana Police to immediately reach Nirmal to take stock of the situation, reported the Times of India.
Additional Superintendent of Police K Dakshanamurthy sustained minor injuries on his head in pelting of stones by some youth.
The police resorted to lathicharge after this incident and dispersed the crowd.
