Hyderabad Mayor Bonthu Rammohan had to come out and dismiss the rumours of his resignation which had gone viral on Tuesday after his name was missing in the inauguration plaque of the prestigious Hyderabad Metro Rail. Some people miffed with his name not listed in the plaque posted on Facebook page of Spirit of Telangana website that the Mayor of Hyderabad had resigned along with a picture of the plaque.
This rumour spread around like wildfire and people have been actively involved in the ensuing discussion and posted comments. The news reached the Mayor who spoke to the media and dismissed the rumours. He also lodged an oral complaint with the police asking them to catch the miscreants responsible for the spreading of the rumour.
One comment that stood out among the others was the question raised as to whether the Mayor’s Backward Class caste was the reason for his name not being mentioned on the plaque.
But the Mayor dismissed the question and said that he would continue in Telangana Rashtra Samithi and work for the development of the public under the guidance of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
