There are a lot of smartphones that will be facing trouble from the next year as the company will not run on the older version of the OS.

WhatsApp will support only smartphones with Android 4.0.3 OS (operating system) or for iPhones running on iOS 9 or the latest version.

The messaging platform will stop working on the iPhone models, including iPhone 4S, the iPhone 5, the iPhone 5S, the iPhone 6, and the iPhone 6S. For Android phones, the list includes HTC Desire, Motorola Droid Razr, LG Optimus Black, and the Samsung Galaxy S2.

How to know which OS is your phone running? iPhone users head to your Settings options, then to General and Information option, select Software and you will be able to see the version of the operating system. And, Android users, go to Settings Menu, select About the Phone to see theirs.

WhatsApp will keep supporting the phones with KaiOS 2.5.1 operating system or latest, including JioPhone, JioPhone 2.
