WhatsApp is reportedly developing a new feature that would allow users to hide their last seen, status, and profile image from specified contacts. This will be an addition to the existing privacy measures on the Facebook-owned instant messaging service. WhatsApp now allows users to conceal their profile image, status, and last seen all at once, without the ability to choose individual contacts.

This is about to change, as WhatsApp has been discovered testing new privacy options that will allow users to pick who their updates and images will be hidden from. The functionality is currently being tested on Android and iOS beta versions. WhatsApp users may presently choose to reveal their Status, Profile Picture, and Last Seen to "Everyone," "Nobody," or "My Contacts."

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will include a new option called "My Contacts...Except," which will allow users to choose who they want to conceal their last saw status and profile picture from. The WABetaInfo article does not demonstrate how the function will operate on WhatsApp. Still, it does provide a screenshot of the new option being added to the messaging app's privacy settings. According to WABetaInfo, the functionality is presently in development and will be included in a future release.

WhatsApp unveiled a new feature that lets Android and iOS users transfer their chats from one operating system to another, a long-requested function. WhatsApp revealed last week how users might move files from iOS to Android.
