- Access mail.google.com. According to Google, Gmail offline will only work in regular mode on Google Chrome, not in Incognito mode.
- Once in your email, click the Settings or Cogwheel button.
- The option "See All Settings" should be chosen.
- Select the "Offline" option after you've arrived at the page.
- When you select the button next to "Enable offline mail," Gmail will offer additional settings.
- You may specify the number of days of emails to sync with Gmail.
- Google shows you how much free space you have on your computer and gives you the choice of keeping offline data on the computer or erasing all offline data.
- When you've selected whether to preserve or remove your offline data, click "Save Changes," and your offline Gmail will be active on your computer.

Google advises bookmarking Gmail for easier offline access. If you use Gmail with your work or school account, you must request that the administrator allow offline settings.
