India has been made proud yet again, this time in the field of golf. Female golfer Aditi Ashok barely missed out on a medal at the Tokyo Olympics, finishing in the fourth spot.

Consequently, it turned out to be India's best-ever finish in the sport at the event. However, Aditi finds it difficult to contain herself with the fourth place despite having been in the top-three for most of the time.

According to PTI, Aditi said that while she had given her 100%, finishing fourth in the Olympics is a tough pill to swallow since only three medals are provided. Had it been some other tournament, she would have been happy, but not the Olympics.

However, she was content with the fact that everyone is satisfied with her performance. While she was not thinking about fans watching her, she would be eyeing more top finishes to increase the popularity and reputation of the sport in India, with kids taking it up.

She was not happy with the performance in the final round, as she felt that she missed quite a few fairways. While she hit just one in the front nine, she missed around four in the back, which somewhat put her out of position, and she could not get close to the flag.

On being asked that if she knew she had joined the ill-fated fourth position club along with late legendary Indian sprinter Milkha Singh, she admitted that she didn't know it. However, she also revealed that it is not a club anyone would like to join. Besides, she also asserted that finishing in the top five to top ten is a monumental achievement at the Games.
